Smart alert conditions

Unlike the criteria for custom alerts, the smart alert trigger conditions are pre-defined. However, there are a wide range of trigger conditions available, enabling you to cover most market event signals for any positions you hold and any securities in your watch lists. 
Note: you will not receive smart alert notifications for securities under $1 and options. Only the underlying symbols are included.

You can easily define which trigger conditions are enabled for all your smart alerts. By default, three conditions are automatically turned on: price change % > 10%, price change % < -10%, and high volume. As a result, you will be automatically notified if any held positions or any securities you have in you watch list match these conditions.

The following table lists all the trigger conditions available for smart alerts: 

Trigger condition Description
Price change % > 5% The security's price went up more than 5% compared to the previous day's closing price. 
Price change % > 10%  The security's price went up more than 10% compared to the previous day's closing price. 
Price change % > 20%
The security's price went up more than 20% compared to the previous day's closing price. 
Price change % > 50%
The security's price went up more than 50% compared to the previous day's closing price. 
Price change % < -5% 
The security's price went down more than 5% compared to the previous day's closing price. 
Price change % < -10% 
The security's price went down more than 10% compared to the previous day's closing price. 
Price change % < -20% 
The security's price went down more than 20% compared to the previous day's closing price. 
Price change % < -50% The security's price went down more than 50% compared to the previous day's closing price.  
New 52 week high  The security's price traded at the 52-week high.
New 52 week low The security's price traded at the 52-week low.
High volume  The security traded at twice the 20-day moving average volume.
