Modifying the chart's general settings

  1. In the main toolbar, click Chart to open the Chart window.

  2. Click  and choose Settings. Then click the General tab. 

  3. Modify the general settings as desired, and click OK when you've finished making changes.

    Setting Description
    Chart type Select the chart type: candle, line chart, area, OHLC bar, OHL bar, HLC bar, or HL bar. To learn more, see Chart types.
    Line weight Click the drop-down arrow and choose the chart's line weight.
    Select the crosshair type to use for your chart. For more information, see Crosshair types.
    Frequency  Select the frequency for the corresponding date range.
    Show horizontal grid lines
    Show vertical grid lines
    Select the checkbox to display grid lines in your watch list.
    Grid scale  Select a Logarithmic or Linear scale.
    Line style  Select the type of grid line you want to use for your chart.
    Top margin (%)
    Bottom margin (%)
    Select the amount of empty space you want to add to the top or bottom of your chart (along the price axis): 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25. These values represent a fraction of the total height of the chart.
    Right margin (bars) Select the amount of empty space you want to add to the right of your chart  (along the time axis): 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, or 100. These values represent the amount of space it takes to display a candlestick bar.

    Note: the extra space will be added after the space allocated for pre-market and after-hours trading (if enabled). It will also add extra space to any studies you may have below the main chart.
    Show pre-market and after-hours trading Select this checkbox if you want to display data from outside regular trading hours.
    Set as default Select this checkbox if you want these settings to be your default properties for the Chart window. The next time you open this window, your new default settings will automatically appear. 
    Restore defaults  To revert to the original factory settings, click the drop-down arrow  and select Restore defaults  to revert to your default settings or Restore factory defaults.
