Viewing your account's historical performance

The investment return screen provides you with a money-weighted total return calculation, which essentially tracks all the elements affecting your account performance over a period of time, expressed as a percentage. 

Cash inflows and outflows for all periods are based on the net change in cash as of the middle of each month, while the total percentage return on your investments is the the cumulative realized and unrealized capital gains and losses of an investment, plus income from the investment over a period of time, expressed as a percentage.

To view your investment return:

  1. In the left navigation menu, click My portfolio and select Investment return

  2. Under Account type, select Managed



    Note:
    you only have to select the account type if you own both a self-directed and managed accounts. 

  3. Change the report date to view your investment return for a different date.



  4. Under the Ranges graph, select to view the data in Months, Years, or Since inception.



  5. Under the Last 12 month graph, drag the date selector to modify the data that you view.
