Viewing your investment summary

In the account summary, you can view the cash value, market value, and total equity of all your self-directed and managed accounts. The market value gives you the current value of the funds invested, while the total equity denotes the current amount of cash and investments in the account.

To view your investment summary: 

  1. In the left navigation menu, click My portfolio and select Investment summary

  2. Change the report date to view an investment summary for a different day.


The account summary displays your accounts' cash value, market value, and total equity. You can view these numbers as All in CAD (the value of cash and/or securities in both CAD and USD combined and calculated in Canadian dollars), CAD (the value of cash and/or securities in Canadian dollars), or USD (the value of cash and/or securities in U.S. dollars). 



Field   Description
Cash  The total amount of cash available in your account.
Market value The total value of all securities in your account. Securities are generally valued using the most recent quoted price from an exchange as of the date of the statement.
Total equity The combined total of cash and securities in your account.
