Editing preferences

To update your preferences, click or tap  in the left navigation menu and click or tap the applicable tabs.

On mobile devices: tap  and select Preferences



You can update the following General preferences: 

Setting Description

Restore all default settings 

Click or tap Restore all default settings to remove all changes you have made to the trading environment.

Reset all warning messages

Click or tap Reset warning dialogs to turn on all warning messages you turned off. 


You can update the following Appearance preferences:

Setting Description

Time

View time in 12-hour or 24-hour format.

Negative numbers

View negative numbers in brackets or with a minus sign. For example: -$1,234 or ($1,234).

Include commas

Check to display commas in numbers. For example: $12000 or $12,000.


You can update the following Order entry preferences. 

Setting Description

Stock/ETF quantity

Enter a default number of stocks/ETFs to trade. The amount can be changed in the order entry window. 

Stock/ETF increments

Enter a default number for stocks/ETFs to increase/decrease when you click the up/down arrows in the order entry window.

Option quantity

Enter a default number of options contracts to trade. The amount can be changed in the order entry window. 

Option increments

Enter a default number for options contracts to increase/decrease when you click the up/down arrows in the order entry window.

Order type

Select a default order type.
 

Order duration

Select a default duration.

Show order confirmations

Check to receive confirmations before orders are sent to the market. 

Show advanced options 

Check to show advanced options in the order entry window.


When you have finished adjusting the settings, click or tap Ok to apply the changes or Cancel to discard them.
